Privacy Policy
Padel Pal is built to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
What stays on your device
Match scores, player names, statistics, and history are stored locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch. They sync between your own devices using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework and are not sent to our servers.
Live sharing
If you choose to use the optional "Go live" feature, the current match state (scores, set results, and the team or player names you entered) is sent to Firebase Realtime Database (a Google service) so spectators with your match link can follow along. This data:
- is only transmitted while you are actively sharing;
- is reached through a random match code, not through anything that identifies you;
- is stamped with an anonymous device ID. The first time you tap "Go live", the app signs in anonymously to Firebase to obtain one. It is not an account: there is no email address, no password, nothing to sign into, and it is never linked to your name or to anything you have told us. Its only job is to make sure that no one else can overwrite the score on a match you are sharing. You can delete it, and everything you have shared, with Settings › Clear All Data;
- is removed when the match or event ends or you stop sharing. League season links are the one exception: they are designed to stay live between matchdays, so their data (team names, results, standings) remains until the season ends or you stop sharing it.
Avoid entering names in the app that you would not want spectators with the link to see. Spectator pages are served with a noindex instruction and are excluded in robots.txt, so a shared link should not turn up in search results, but treat any link you hand out as public. Firebase's handling of data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Reporting a live page
Every spectator page carries a "Report this page" link, and the app has the same route at Settings › Report a live link. If someone has put an offensive name on a page you have been sent, tell us and we will take it down. You do not need the app to report a page.
Health data
On Apple Watch, Padel Pal can start a workout session while you score so the app stays visible during play. Workout data is handled by Apple HealthKit on your device under your HealthKit permissions; we never receive it.
What we don't do
- No accounts or profiles, and nothing to sign up for
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No analytics, tracking, or selling of data
